Privacy Policy

Introduction
Paths.Design is a free, public design-education library: articles, career-path guides, exercises, and book recommendations. You can read everything on this site without an account and without telling us who you are. This policy explains the small amount of data the site does handle.
What We Collect
Privacy-Friendly Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage — which pages are read, roughly from which countries, and on what kinds of devices. This measurement is cookieless: it does not build individual profiles, does not follow you across other websites, and is not used for advertising.
Standard Server Logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived server logs that include information such as your IP address, browser, and the pages you request. These logs exist to keep the site secure and operational and are not used to identify you.
Messages You Send Us
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your email address and message. We use it only to reply, and we don't add you to any list, because there is no list.
Publishing Accounts
The articles on this site are managed through authenticated staff accounts. These are not public accounts: there is no sign-up, and visitor reading is not tied to any identity.
What This Site Does Not Do
No user accounts or registration
No newsletter or marketing email
No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
No selling or sharing of personal data
No purchases, payments, or stored payment data
Cookies
The site sets one functional cookie, theme, which remembers whether you prefer the light or dark appearance. It contains no identifier and exists only so the site doesn't flash the wrong colors on your next visit. Our analytics measurement is cookieless. You can clear or block the theme cookie at any time in your browser; the site will simply ask your system preference again.
Third Parties
Vercel — hosting and aggregate analytics, as described above.
Supabase — hosts the database that stores the published articles.
Amazon — book links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one, you leave our site and Amazon's own privacy policy applies to everything from that point on.
We encourage you to review those services' privacy policies if you have concerns about them.
Your Data and Your Rights
Because the site collects so little, there is usually nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or if you have any privacy question, write to [email protected] and we will take care of it.
Children's Privacy
Paths.Design is written for a general audience of design learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and, given what the site collects, we have no reason to. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will investigate.
Changes to This Policy
If the site's behavior changes — for example, if a feature is added that involves new data — we will update this page and its date. Significant changes will be described plainly at the top of the policy.
